Sieving
There are two types of sieves:
Rotary drum sieves,
Static sieves.
Application and operation of the rotary sieve:
The rotary sieve is used in both urban and industrial
washwater applications and is essentially a filtering rotary
drum.
Operating process :
1. After entering the distribution tank, the liquid
meets with the rotary drum, allowing the solids to be captured
and rotated to the outfall side where by means of a scraper
blade, they are transferred to an external container.
2. The filtered liquid crosses the drum against the current
to facilitate washing of the filter.
3. The internal deflector prevents the liquid splashing on
to the solid parts...
Application and operation of the static sieve :
The static sieve is used for washwater and wastewater
effluents in a variety of industries. The frame which houses
the filter screen, is constructed in AISI 304L stainless steel
and has a distribution box mounted on four adjustable feet.
Operating process :
Gravitational filtration causes separation of the
solid and liquid fractions.
